WHICH TOPICS ARE RELEVANT FOR COACHING?

All topics are suitable for coaching that have to do with your life and your work  in the broadest sense. These can be new visions and goals, questions about work-life balance, but also conflicts with colleagues, with friends or topics related to more efficient workflow design. Sometimes you have to make a decision and need to reflect about it. You might need to prepare an upcoming conversation with your boss or a coworker.  Coaching is no longer appropriate when the content is psychotherapeutic, i.e. when you are afraid you might have a psychotherapeutic condition that needs treatment.  If in doubt, please contact me and we will clarify whether it is a coaching topic and decide whether I am the right coaching partner.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES AND HOW DO I PAY?

A coaching session costs € 120 / hour (plus VAT).  I will give you a discount, if you book 5 or more coaching sessions. As mentioned above, a coaching topic can be dealt with in just one or two sessions. In this case you can cancel further appointments and you will receive a pro rata invoice.
For students and young professionals I have a special rate of € 80 / hour (plus VAT).
Payments can be made by bank transfer or PayPal upon receipt of an invoice.
A first introductory phone call of up to 20 minutes is free of charge

DO COACHINGS TAKE PLACE IN PERSON OR BY PHONE OR VIDEO?

Currently all coachings take place by video (Zoom or other) or by phone.
During non-pandemic times I offer both, in-person coachings and meetings via video or phone.

DO YOU COACH IN ENGLISH AND GERMAN?

I offer coachings in both German and English.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT?

Cancellation by phone or email is free of charge up to 48 hours prior to the appointment. After that I charge 80% of my fee.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A COACHING SESSION?

As part of a coaching session, we first discuss the general topic that you bring along. We then look at which smaller sub-topics we can divide this into. From these topics we choose a goal for this special coaching lesson and work together to develop possible solutions that appear feasible for you. At the end of a coaching session, we summarize the result.
As the client, you decide whether or not further coaching hours are necessary either directly after the coaching or after a few days. Because sometimes even a partial solution goes so far that further meetings are not necessary. On the other hand, a new alternative course of action can bring other topics to the surface, which then have to be dealt with.

HOW LONG IS AN INDIVIDUAL COACHING SESSION?

An individual coaching session lasts up to 60 minutes.

HOW MANY COACHING SESSIONS DO I NEED TO PLAN FOR?

There is no fixed amount of hours that I recommend or that is mandatory. How many meetings will be necessary to discuss your topics will be determined during our first meeting or possibly in our first preliminary talk. In the solution-oriented coaching that I practice it is possible that a new idea comes up during the first session that can be implemented. You decide from meeting to meeting whether further meetings are necessary.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR A COACHING SESSION?

It is not necessary to make special preparations for a coaching appointment. Just think about the topic you want to discuss with me and what could be important for it. Sometimes it takes a week or more from making an appointment to our meeting. Perhaps the main topic has already changed during this time or a completely different topic is relevant now. It is important to be willing to experiment and to be open to new ideas and perspectives.

HOW DO I KNOW IF A COACHING WILL BE SUCCESSFUL?

Coaching is a very personal process. Often the actual coaching does not take place during the coaching session, but in the periods between the coachings. That is the time when you consciously or unconsiously process the input and see what actually changes in everyday life.

As a result, you may leave a coaching session thinking it was not worth it or you are more confused than you were at the beginning. But often the fog clears during the next day or the next week. Therefore, coaching sessions should not take place too quickly one after the other. Normally I recommend an interval of at least 2 weeks between appointments.

CAN WE BE COACHED AS A GROUP OR A  TEAM?

Of course, you can also be coached as a team or group. It is a very good idea to arrange a coaching when a new team is formed. It helps tocoordinate the mutual expectations of the various members. It is also useful when conflicts need to be dealt with in a team. When a larger team needs coaching I can also team up with a colleague.
As team coachings need a different preparation and length of coaching special rates apply. Get in touch and we can discuss your specific requirements.
